The end to a fantastic year in Room B

This is the final post for this blog which has captured our learning and fun times we all shared in Room B during 2011. The last photos are our graduation photos and like all the photos that have been posted, they can all be saved to your own computers when you right click on a photo and choose the option "save image as". I want to thank everyone from all the special year 2 children I taught and all the wonderful support I had from parents and grandparents over the year. SO WHAT IS ROCKING DOWN IN YOUR GARDEN?

PRINTMAKING UNIT

Today we began our focus on printmaking for art. We were very lucky to be visited by Rei Hendri who loves art and showed us how to do polystyrene plate printing. We will post photos of our fun afternoon but I found this clip on collagraph prints which are going to be the next prints we are going to try.


Question: So what are collograph prints?
Answer: Think "collage" when you think "collagraph" and you've got the key to this style of printmaking. A collagraph is a print made from a plate that's built up from anything you can stick down onto a base of cardboard or wood. Take a look at how to do one....

Welcome to Waka this term

Wiki decided to go for a holiday for a few weeks and thought it would be nice for his cousin Waka to come and visit us in Room B. He has been enjoying his first week with us and has been getting out and about with our "Digi Detectives". Here are some photos that they have taken to practise their photo angles and shots using the digital camera. Yesterday we saw the difference a photo looks when you turn the camera upright as it centres your main object which in our case is Waka!
